NTWS hanging
« on: July 26, 2010, 02:44:38 PM »
Hi,
NTWS5 PR25 C72
The app has a browse proc which has a timer, then every min the browse is refreshed at the client side.
After a number of hours working, may be 6, 8, 10 it does not respond or take a very very long time to respond.
Looking at the NTWS window, I see the request arriving but not responding.
I shut it down, restart it and every thing is ok.
Is there anything I can do to sort it out?
THanks
Alberto

are you running any procedures from the web server?
to generate a report on a schedule maybe, or do a backup, or MESSAGE, or anything at all?

I've not seen this effect before with a web server, so I'm thinking something about your web server procedure is different.

Or perhaps windows is unable to keep up with your timers. What OS are you running on? Does this behaviour go away if you turn the timers off, or slow them down a bit?

cheers
Bruce

No, nothing different, the web server has a proc to generate a graphic but the problem happend without using this graphic, just with the server running.
I have no MESSAGES obviously.
The OS is Win7 ultimate.
The web server has a browse with a 2min timer but it still happens even if the user does not use any browse.
