Title: IExplorer 10 only errors
Post by: astahl on August 07, 2019, 02:21:50 AM
Hi All,

I don't understand why I'm getting these errors in IE10 only. Using NT11.18 all other Capesoft templates are up to date

HTML1300: Navigation occurred.
LoginForm
SCRIPT1003: Expected ':'
all.js (2057,13)
SCRIPT5009: '$' is undefined
LoginForm (37,10)

The above errors occur only in IE10. Firefox, Chrome, MSEdge all work perfectly fine.
Ran Gzipall no change

I'm not sure IE 10 is supported by NetTalk anymore Ashley.
I haven't really checked.

Set your site into "debug" mode on the performance tab, and try again. That will at least narrow down the script involved. But lots of the web API's I'm using won't be in IE10, so it doesn't surprise me you have a problem there.

Cheers

Hi Bruce,

Ok, kinda suspected that. I'd rather have them upgrade to Edge or the other new browsers.

Thank Bruce.

I still have users running Windows XP. I just put a big red warning at the top of every page, and let them deal with the errors. Since yours is just a browser you could instead give them a few links to download a current browser.

Hi Ashley,

As it happens this specific error in IE can be dealt with, so I've tweaked the JavaScript for the next build.
but generally speaking IE is not officially supported, and I know some of the more advanced stuff (cameras etc) do not work with it.

cheers
