I guess since I use Nettalk 6.37 my server-app crashes randomly without
an error-message, just stops with the windows message that "The
application stopped working". Never had this with Nettalk 4 and the same app.
You start it and the next morning it's down, day after day.
Running as a normal windows app.
Some of my customers reported this but not all.
I've seen it here too but only for a couple of months and now it doesn't
happen anymore but at customers sites it still happens with the same
version of the app.
Tried to get a proper error-message by enabling error-messages in
Nettalk 6 but no error was reported it just stops.
This problem was reported under both Windows XP and Windows 7
32 bit.
Anyone having or had the same problem?
Any idea how to tackle this one?
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
This is happening to me also. On 32bit and 64bit.

I guess the obvious first step is to get the latest NT6 build.
6.37 is quite old, so perhaps it's just a bug in that build.
Keep us posted though - it may be something else.
cheers

Hi Greg,
What version do you use?

Nettalk 6.51

Hi Bruce,
Greg uses 6.51 and seems to have the same sort of problem...
As I said the crashing now occurs at customers sites and not anymore at my place.
That is strange, it happens a month maybe two months almost every day and then it was over and
I didn't see it again. It can't be that I changed the app in some way because customers still report
this problem using the same build as I do. Maybe some window thing got updated?
I'm building a utility now to restart the server when it goes down. Seems like the only solution at the moment.

yeah, but like two different people getting a GPF it might be the same thing, or it might be something completely different - there's no way to tell (until both are fixed.)
Certainly the fact that you get it in some places, but not others, points to some sort of external influence. If you figure out what it is please let us know.
Is your app using SQL? Are up updated to 6.51 yet?
cheers

No TPS only. Ok, thanks, I will update to 6.51.
