Diagnosing NetTalk WebServer from outside my site
« on: October 26, 2007, 07:59:41 AM »
I've got a static IP and trying to get a NetTalk app to work so I can access it from outside my firewall (the outside world). Anyone know of a free website that I could go to, put in my IP address and port, and have it show me what it sees? Anonymizer.com is a little expensive and slow. Thanks!

All you need to do is open a hole in your router's firewall for the port and redirect it to the local IP of the machine running your app on you network. No third party needed unless you were looking to have domain name.

To make it easier, if you have a regular webspace, create a redirect page there that has your static IP as the redirect. That's what I do for my test site. http://cordessoftware.com/pgpdata
