Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: NetWebForm URL on Save
« on: March 28, 2012, 07:37:57 PM »
OK I only have one issue left now. I can create the report but when the report opens in Adobe (by clicking the URL on Save button in the Form) Adobe shows an error message:

File does not begin with '%PDF-'.

Has anyone else seen this? If you click OK on the error message and re-load the report from the address bar the report opens without any issues.

Regards,
Trent

I understand where I went wrong now. Instead of setting the 'Print' button URL to the report procedure, you set the URL to the PDF File Name GSV and tell the form to call the report procedure.

Thank you for helping me understand this.

Hi Kevin,

I have created a new 'Print' button on the Form which works per what the GSV is. But I am having an issue with the PDF file name. I set a Global Data variable to be 'web\reports\$$$SessionID.pdf' which the report is printing correctly to but I get an error on the web page 'The Print procedure failed to create the PDF file [web\reports\$$$DifferentSessionID.pdf]'.

Why would this be trying to open a pdf with a different file name?

Regards,
Trent

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the reply. The SSV is being done when a drop down is selected on the Form so the GSV is not set when the Form opens.

I will try another way :)

Thanks,
Trent

Web Server - Ask For Help / NetWebForm URL on Save
« on: March 28, 2012, 01:21:09 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I'm having difficulty getting the URL on Save to work on a NetWebForm. The Form is a 'Report Selector' with lots of drop downs, date selects and check boxes that I would like to be able to run several PDF reports from. I set the PDF report procedure name as the SSV but the URL on Save doesn't seem to like having a GSV value. Is there any other way of doing this?

Thanks,
Trent

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: 'Other' Buttons on a NetWebBrowse
« on: March 23, 2012, 05:33:40 PM »
Hi Bruce,

Build 6.26.

I have fixed Button1 browse refresh which in turn fixed the OnClick procedure being run at Form load.

Now the issue I am experiencing is Button2 is not refreshing the browse after Server Code is run, it is not even running the Server Code. Please see attached example28 app:

MailboxesBrowseControl > Other21 button: Opens SomeForm procedure as a popup. Server Code sets SessionValues which changes the Browse filter when the browse is refreshed.

Web Server - Ask For Help / 'Other' Buttons on a NetWebBrowse
« on: March 22, 2012, 09:25:36 PM »
I have a NetWebForm that has a NetWebBrowse procedure.
The Browse has 2x buttons:

Button1) Updates a record in Table A (the same table the browse is displaying), then refreshes the Browse.
Button2) Inserts a record in Table B, then refreshes the browse.

I am experiencing 2 issues:

1) When either button is clicked the Browse is not refreshed. I have the 'Refresh whole browse after server code runs' option checked for both buttons.
2) When the Form loads the Browse it is also processing the OnClick procedure of Button1. This should only happen when Button1 is clicked.

Please help!

On both machines I have Firefox 11 and IE9, this issue occurs when using either one to access the webserver running on the laptop.

I can click in the field when accessing the webserver running on my desktop from my laptop --- weird!!!???

More info: it happens when the app is running on my testing laptop, not when the app is running on my testing desktop PC. Both are running the same webserver app and have the same versions of internet browser.

Has anyone else experienced not being able to click in a string text field on a NetWebForm?

In Firefox 11 I can click on this string text field only on the far right hand side of the field.

In IE9 i cannot click in the string text field at all.

The string field is a local data field @s50.

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Count Records in a Drop Down
« on: February 19, 2012, 06:54:59 PM »
Hi Kevin,

You are correct, the information isn't available until *after* the drop list has been reset. I am using an SQL database so what I have done is run a 'select count(*)' script in the Validate::FieldName embed for the Date field and set the 'recs' SSV = to 1 if records are found. The drop down is then reset and unhidden if there are records.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Kevin and Bruce,

Thank you for your replies, I don't think my question was very clear... setting a session value to hide the drop down is the easy part, what I need to know is how to count the results that are in the drop down after the drop down has been reset by the date field.

The drop down has an OptionFilter embed using prop:filter to select records from a table. Where are these results stored and how does one count them?

I am trying to show or hide a drop down field on a NetWebForm depending on the results of the drop down field when the drop down field is reset by a user selecting a date from a Date field on the form. I would like to hide the drop down field if the result count is less than 1.

Does anyone know how to do this?
