Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: History of Nettalk 11 since 11.48

Dear Casper,

I'd probably at least want to do the OpenSSL update.

https://www.capesoft.com/docs/NetTalk11/NetTalkHistory.htm

Gruss!

What version of NetTalk?  I don't remember when Bruce added SAN support.

Seems to work with NT 12.35.

Hi, Johan,

I just installed 12.35.
Last I looked at this was a month ago with my previous post.
This time I found I needed to do the settings Bruce mentioned in his post.

Attached is Web74 as tweaked.  Works on my machine.

Cheers,

Jane

Thanks, Bruce.

Global set Browse to Grid mode - no change
HTML editor to none - no change

MEDIA:
Last on line - was already on
Span rows: 4 - was already set that way
Start Column (Grid mode): 2 - was already set that way
Start row (Grid mode):1 - was blank - no change
Span columns: 1 - was blank - no change

MED:Description - switch to Last on Line (was Last in Cell) <<--THIS DOES IT

It's still not completely responsive.
I guess ??
(This coming from someone who finally switched from a flip phone to a Pixel just two months ago...)
When I narrow the window in the browser, the media item does not collapse below the data fields.  (Maybe need to force with a @media element??).

But it's certainly usable now.

Cheers,

Jane

I hoped maybe it would work with 12.33, Johan.

But web74 example still not working for me with Div Grid mode.

Can you confirm?

Jane

Johan,
Does it work for you?

I'm apparently missing something.  Installed 12.32.   Switched to Div Grid.  Set Start Column at 2 and left Span Rows at 4 as they were.  Does not span.
Switch to Table mode and it does span.

Does it span correctly for you in Div Grid mode?

12.03 works, 12.12 does not.  Is it possible to download the versions between them?

I'd suggest that that is a *bad* idea.
Why would you want to box yourself into an old version and have trouble with newer versions going forward?

Get your app working with the current 12.26.  Figure out what's wrong (maybe on the weekly Thursday NetTalk webinar) and move on from there.

Onward and upward!

Cheers,

No idea.

But as a first step I think you might be a big more clear.  The history shows there were 3 NetTalk releases in January and 5 releases in April.

Which release works and which one does not?
Does looking through the release history show anything that gives you a clue?

One word answer, Casey.

MAGICK

Check out the amazing new template option that does all that for you automagically.
I yanked out my similar code for a session-based memory table and turned it over to the template.  https://www.capesoft.com/docs/NetTalk12/NetTalkWebBasic.htm#SessionTables

As for direct access... there's now a new interface.  Check netwebsessionsInterface.inc and the other netwebsessions files.

Cheers,

Jane

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Next button breaks browse
« on: September 23, 2021, 03:10:11 PM »
FWIW, my problem didn't happen when *I* set a sort order.

Rather, when a user clicked a column header to sort the browse by that column.  After that, all was bolluxed.

If you compile the Themer(86) example there's a Tree included in Demos / Field Expo.

I had a similar problem with SQL of "no records" with the Next button.  But mine was tied to a problem with the sort order.

That is what was fixed in 12.26.

To see if your problem is related, you might want to debug output loc:vordernumber at various places.  Debugging during a webinar, Bruce found that loc:vordernumber was (incorrectly) 0 at the start of the SetVorder routine when the problem occurred.  With a SQL backend that resulted in the "no records" result.

In addition, marking the "Send Filter, Order to DebugView" template checkbox for the browse may be informative.

Hi Bruce,

Is this likely to have been the cause of the problem I mentioned in the first reply to this post, it sounds similar?

Gordon

Gordon,

If you want to try the fix Bruce gave me... in browses having the problem search for a line like

Code: [Select]
loc:vordernumber    = p_web.RestoreValue('BrowseHoldingTank_sort_' & loc:RandomBrowseId,net:DontEvaluate)
In 12.25 it is in the GenerateBrowse routine.
(The BROWSENAME_sort_ part of the line will be specific to your browse.  )

Then copy that line exactly and paste it into the first embed in the SetVorder routine.
