Title: OT - Are the SV newsgroups still alive?

The SV newsgroups seem unreachable,
are they down, or is it something on my side?

that was it.
Not sure how much more time I would have wasted to try and connect without knowing about that issue.
Would probably have ended up using something else to ThunderBird
