Locator search problem 7.14

using example Web1 - no changes, just compiled
Locator Settings
Locator type = position
enter gre and click search
moves correctly to highlight gregory
click clear
gre still in locate field and list returns to top of browse
enter gre again and search and nothing happens I assume because the name is still there and there has been no change to the input field.
If I delete the value in the location field so that the search placeholder appears and retype gre and search sometimes it goes to the gregory record but more often nothing happens.


Testing it I think that the differences between displaying the search records or not is whether I delete the locator value and move off the locator field and then come back to type in gre and click search in which case it finds the matched records. If I delete the gre in the locator don't move out of the field and type gre and click search in which case nothing happens.

I pcked this up in one of my applications so it is not restricted to the example and I had a similar situation with locator type contains
