Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Eeekkk - Save has stopped working
« on: February 16, 2012, 09:39:31 PM »
Sorry Guys I just started a new topic on this.  I did not see this one.  I am having the same problem since I upgreaded to 6.20.  Save is broken on popup forms.  If the form is called as a non popup it works fine but when called as a popup it seems broken and you have to press cancel.

Any Thoughts?

It looks like Save on the popup form is borken.  If the form is called as a non- pop up it works fine.  Can anyone confirm this in 6.20?

Bruce,

Lets say I access my server from a remote location and I make changes to my server config and I would want to restart the server to make those changes active.  The restart would have to be only accessed from a secure admin page.

Anyone have any idea if its possible to restart a NetTalk web server from a command issued from a server page.  Any idea ... anybody!

Just a quick thought ..... did you import the correct database ... by that I mean there are two databases you can import ... the one if you have the memory driver and the one if you don't.  I made that mistake when playing with it when it first came out.  I hope I will be at a point this comming weekend to start applying Secwin to my NetTalk app.

What I would like to do is put only the Secwin procedures that I can get by with and put the rest in a separate administrative app so my main app doesn't get so heavy .... not sure if thats possible but I am going to explore that.  I know Bruce will give us some feed back as soon as he can.   ;D

Great questions that I would be interested in hearing some answers.  It would be great if Bruce would start a new Thread on Secwin and NetTalk Web Server.  I have only played around with the new Secwin6 and not have used it in a production app yet.  I have a app that I am getting close to but not quiet ready yet to apply How about it Bruce? A Secwin/NetTalk Web Server Thread?   Maybe?  :)  :)

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: loginpage does not validate

I noticed it also in a app I had been working on.  I wasn't sure if it was the upgrade to 6.17 or was something I broke.  What I did I created a new app using the wizard and copied the loginfrom from the new app to the app I was working on and it started working again.  I have not had the time to investigate if it was something I broke or something in the upgrading to 6.17.

It appears after upgrading to 6.11 all of my forms will not update.  Calling a form from the any of my browse procedures doesn't work any more.  Is this a new bug or did I miss something.  The forms can be called from the View button or Insert button but not the Change button.

Jeffery,
Bruce is Right! Once you get serious about Clarion 8 you will never go back.  I slept thru Clarion 7 and did not do much or anything very serious with it.  Clarion 8 came out and took me by surprise so I figured I had better get with the program and start learning.  Its really great stuff. I am no longer doing any new projects in 6.  I am only using Clarion 6 to maintain older projects that are not profitable to move to Clarion 8.  Its well worth your time to invest in the learning curve to move to Clarion 8.

Depending on the features you need in your web app I would work with NetTalk 5 and give NetTalk 6 just a bit more time to mature and stablize. NT 6 is a great upgrade but needs a little time to mature.
