At this stage we're waiting for a Chrome update to roll out with the fix. The user can also check and see if there are any Chrome updates waiting.

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Here maps are slow with NT 14.21

Hi Jari,

May just be the different API.
I presume you switched your HERE credentials to using the new HERE Platform API's?
(ie you signed up for the new HERE Platform product, nd you put your new credentials in the global extension?)

Cheers

Web Server - Ask For Help / Here maps are slow with NT 14.21

Any thoughts on why Here Maps is much slower on NT 14.21 than on 12.20?
The slowness occurs when fetching a new map, so for testing purposes, please clear the C:\temp\maps folder.

Versions
NT 14.21
Draw 4.36
St 3.67

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: How do I know if the connection is on?
« Last post by Bruce on April 25, 2024, 08:48:04 PM »
Hi Jari,

There is no "connection to the web site".

The pattern is
"connect, request, response, disconnect".

>> I have a website that automatically updates information.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Perhaps you want to elaborate? Like are you using web sockets? Timers? User refreshes page?

>>  If the connection to the web server is interrupted for some reason (e.g., due to an update), I would like the login page to appear.

So the web server is down, because you are doing an update? In that case you can't go to the login page because, well, the web server is down.
If the server is down, but is now up, and you used "save state" then the user won't notice and can continue as before.

I think you might want to include a lot more detail about this post because its really hard to give you useful information with so little context.

Also I presume you are on build 14.21? You didn't think to mention otherwise.

There was a bug introduced in chromium - https://issues.chromium.org/issues/335553723

As of this morning's comments on that thread, looks like the new version has fixed the issue.

Hi Bruce

It looks like this problem is a bit bigger. I have several users reporting a similar issue with one of my apps. The problem started on Tuesday with Edge browsers on Windows 11. My app was on NT 12 at the time. Last night I updated it to NT 14.21 and today the problem now exists in Chrome. But only one some computers. All 3 of my computers work fine. Firefox is also working fine on any computer tested. I have another app with a much larger user base that isn't having this issue.

Both browsers give a STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW error. The app with the error was originally designed as a disconnected app, but I since disabled that.

Ok, so while I was typing this Chrome started working on my customer's computer that I have a remote desktop for. Edge still isn't working. Maybe they pushed out an update that fixed the issue?

Thanks,
Matthew

Hi Bruce,

My co-worker did go through the steps outlined in the Learn More link, but still has the issue.  I asked him to check the Java Script console for error messages but have not heard back.  Stay Tuned!

looks like a browser bug. Did he get any more from clicking on Learn mode, or finding out about Error 11?

Hello all,

I have a co-worker who is running NetTalk 14.20 web apps from his MAC with the latest Chrome browser.  When he clicks on a drop list he gets the Chrome "Aw Snap" error 11 message.  See attached image.  The app does work as expected with Safari on this same MAC.  In addition, the app works as expected on his Windows 11 machine.  Anyone have any thoughts on the cause and a fix?

Thanks,

Jeff King
